EAST Beijing Launches Unique Christmas Tree to Spread Holiday Spirits

(Beijing, 6 December 2021) EAST Beijing is delighted to announce that it will continue its tradition of creating unique Christmas trees whilst supporting local charities by kicking off the enchanting holiday season with its Christmas Tree of Knowledge.

The Christmas tree will be unveiled on Monday 6 December and displayed in the hotel lobby until end of the month. Carefully crafted by our talented engineering team members, the entire Christmas tree is made of repurposed old wooden flooring from Hagaki Restaurant with adjustable lights as part of Swire Hotels’ sustainability initiative, to reduce the amount of waste created and inspire the community with ways to reduce their own environmental footprints during the festive season.

Christmas is also the season of giving. EAST Beijing invites guests and local communities to drop off their idle books at the donation box placed in the hotel lobby. In partnership with Roundabout, donated books will be used to decorate the Christmas tree and sold through its book bazaar in January next year. All proceeds will help support children in need.

A thank you card will also be given to donors to show appreciation for their kindness, in which they can redeem a festive dessert for free at Domain before 31 December 2021.

“Stop by our lobby at EAST Beijing, check out our unique Christmas tree and donate your books,” says Christian Kronast, General Manager of EAST Beijing. “We are excited to collaborate with Roundabout once again to spread love to those in need during this festive season while continuing to raise environmental awareness and contribute to sustainable development.”
