'House Picks' by The House Collective
The House Collective launched its ‘House Picks’ series in June, which takes viewers on a tour through Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu. Led by our General Managers from the Houses, ‘House Picks’ shows their favourite spots as well as parts of the cities that are not as commonly known to tourists.

Discover Beijing with Mark
Starting in Beijing, Mark, General Manager from The Opposite House discovers the city’s creative hot spots and hidden gems, from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the 798 Art District, to Huguosi Hutong for local eats and underground music scene at gui.

Discover Shanghai with Michael
Next stop is Shanghai where General Manager Michael from The Middle House takes us to see the fashionable, creative and sustainable sides of the city as it continues to develop and evolve, including sustainable fashion brands In Sharks We Trust, Reclothing Bank and Fake Natoo, sustainable one-star Michelin vegetarian restaurant, a trip to one of the city's top contemporary art museums and some shopping at old tailor shops.

Discover Chengdu with Simon
The final stop on our House Picks journey takes us to Chengdu where Simon, General Manager of The Temple House, shows us the traditional side of the city’s culture with Sichuan cuisine and a visit to the Shu Embroidery Museum to learn about the ancient craft of embroidery, and explores the new, meeting up with contemporary urban artist Fansack and even checking out Chengdu’s burgeoning hip hop scene.
