AWARDS & ACCOLADES FOR EAST & OUR HOUSES

Earlier this year, Michelin Guide awarded Mi Xun Teahouse at Upper House Chengdu and Jing Yaa Tang at The Opposite House each with one star. Celebrating its first Michelin award, Mi Xun Teahouse launched a special, limited-time menu featuring signature dishes alongside new flavours. Jing Yaa Tang was honoured for the third consecutive year. “It is a great honour to have been recognised and awarded three years in a row in Beijing’s Michelin Guide,” says Chef Li Dong. “These successes come from my team’s devotion to food and the dining experience. We look forward to continuing to provide an exceptional experience for our guests at Jing Yaa Tang.” 

The Black Pearl Restaurant Guide also recognised House restaurants, bestowing both Sui Tang Li at Upper House Shanghai and Tivano at Upper House Chengdu with a One Diamond rating. “For me, food is an art, a language, and an essential bridge to connect people,” says Jerome, the Chef de Cuisine of Tivano who led the team to this honour for the fifth consecutive year. 

In global media, The Opposite House, Upper House Hong Kong and Upper House Chengdu all appeared on Travel + Leisure 500, which recognises the 500 best hotels around the globe as voted for by their readers. The list is drawn from the results of the media brand’s annual World’s Best Awards survey, distributed to their audience of 8.1 million.  

Our Houses also were honoured in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best 2022 Awards. Based on millions of reviews from the past year, these fête the top 1% of hotels worldwide. Upper House Shanghai (#3), The Opposite House (#5) and Upper House Hong Kong (#11) made the Top 25 Hotels in China as well as appearing on the Top 25 Luxury Hotels in China. Upper House Shanghai was also named #23 in the Top 25 Hotels in Asia. 

EAST has enjoyed time in the limelight recently, too. Conde Nast Traveller described EAST Miami as “a reminder that Miami is vibrant, multicultural, and metropolitan, far from the beach” while guests on TripAdvisor have commented on the “gorgeous rooms and locations” as well as the “incredible venue and service”.
